Despite only being around for a decade, NFTs have made significant progress. Many companies are now adopting NFT technology for their operations, highlighting the far-reaching impact of the sector. The concept of NFTs was first introduced in 2012 with the project Colored Coins, which aimed to tokenize the Bitcoins from the first-ever block. Since then, the NFT market has seen record sales and the introduction of NFT token standards, such as ERC721, which has simplified tokenization and increased popularity. Previously, there were only a few NFT projects, like Rare Pepes and Crypto Punks, but now there are thousands of NFT collections across various blockchains. While there are concerns about the value of NFTs, the sector remains on a growth trajectory. In the future, we can expect even more expensive NFT sales and new technological advancements.
